Rating All 10 Noble Crown Body Mists

Today I’m reviewing all 10 of my body mist scents, and I’m not just hyping them. Some are amazing, some surprised me, and a couple I probably wouldn’t wear myself. I was restocking the Noble Crown body mists ahead of spring and summer, and as I was pouring them it seemed like a good time to actually smell through the whole lineup and score them.

How I’m Scoring These

I’m ranking each one from 1 to 5, where 1 means I hate it and 5 means I love it. But here’s the important part: this is a “would I personally wear this?” score, not a quality score. Two of the lowest scores on this list are among my best sellers. Dark Chocolate Cocoa sells like crazy and I gave it a 1, purely because I don’t want to smell like chocolate. So read a low number as a taste mismatch between me and that scent, not as a warning.

For context, all of my body mists are eau fraiche, meaning a low concentration. That’s deliberate. I tend to like fruity scents, and a lot of these lean juicy, fruity, and sweet, because those notes often don’t play well at full perfume strength but do beautifully as a lighter body scent. They come in 30ml travel bottles and 100ml everyday bottles, both glass.

The Scoreboard

Here’s where everything landed before we get into the detail:

The Fives

Salty Dog: 5 out of 5

Pink grapefruit, white grapefruit, aloe vera, geranium, rhubarb

Let me be upfront: Salty Dog is my favorite fragrance out of everything I make. It goes into every single product line we have, including candles, perfume, body mist, reed diffusers, room sprays, and hand soaps coming soon. You get a bright citrus opening that reads almost sharp but never bitter or harsh, because it stays sweet. The pink grapefruit is obvious, but the aloe softens it and the white grapefruit tames the sweetness, and as it dries down it turns more floral. I didn’t originally have it as a perfume at all. It was so popular as a candle that I had to make one, and it quickly became one of our best sellers. It’s also perfect for layering. I’ll put a perfume on first, and whether it’s woody, floral, fruity, or even gourmand, Salty Dog layers on top beautifully.

Sovereign: 5 out of 5

Hibiscus, jasmine, green tea, lemon, coconut

No pretending here, I love this one. Sovereign started as a perfume because I’d been obsessed with the smell of hibiscus and knew I wanted a hibiscus tea scent. It’s now one of our best-selling perfumes as an EDP, and it exists in a lot of form factors. It’s one of my masterpiece scents, and I have very few fragrances I’d put in that category. You get the coconut, the green tea, the hibiscus, the lemon, all of it. The coconut is subtle, so the hibiscus and green tea lead. As a body mist it leaves you feeling light and refreshed, which makes it perfect for spring as things start to warm up. If you’re into tea scents at all, start here.

Sparkly Peach: 5 out of 5

Peach nectar, prosecco, musk

This one is a body mist exclusive, though I’m working on the candle. I was genuinely worried when I made it, because peach and prosecco can go horribly wrong in fragrance and end up smelling like body odor if you get it wrong. Sparkly Peach does not. The peach is recognizable but light, and the clean musk is what lifts the whole thing and makes it airy. You get a little bit of bubbles from the prosecco without it ever turning sour, which is exactly what I hate about most peach and champagne scents. Performance is excellent too, roughly three to four hours on skin for me and noticeably longer if you spray it on your clothes.

The Fours

Gamechanger: 4 out of 5

Ripe mango, tequila, chili salt

Fair warning, this one is limited stock. It didn’t sell well as a candle so I discontinued that, but it still sells well as a body mist, so I’m keeping it around for now. Gamechanger came from wanting to build a mango margarita, since those are one of my favorite drinks. There’s a ton of mango-scented product in the world, so the chili salt is what makes this one stand out. It’s mango-forward, then you catch something spicy underneath. You don’t get much tequila, but you know it’s a drink rather than a heavy ripe mango. It works across spring, summer, and fall, and it layers really well with other fruity fragrances.

Strawberry Jam: 4 out of 5

Strawberry, cream, sugar

My favorite of the three Neapolitan scents. I wanted a strawberry to sit alongside the vanilla and chocolate, but I wanted it jammy, thicker, and more complex than a typical strawberry. Imagine macerating strawberries in sugar and a little alcohol, letting them soak a day or two, then folding that into strawberry ice cream. That’s Strawberry Jam. The Neapolitan set all share a creamy base, so you get that ice cream feel underneath. Normally I’m not trying to smell like strawberries, so this would be a 3 on personal preference alone, but the scent is good enough that it pulls itself up to a 4. For most people it’s probably a 5. When I was doing in-person markets it was the best seller of the Neapolitan set by a wide margin, which surprised me at the time. Sales don’t lie.

The Threes

Spiked Punch: 3 out of 5

Dragon fruit, papaya, coconut

Here’s where the scoring gets interesting. On scent alone Spiked Punch is a 5 for me. It’s a 3 only because I personally wouldn’t wear it all the time, since it’s a little too sweet for my taste. It started in my old cocktail trio, now the party collection, and it began with wanting a tropical dragon fruit drink. It’s super juicy and candy-like, almost Jolly Rancher territory, and as it dries down the coconut starts to come through. The papaya gives it that tropical feel. If you love sweet, juicy, cocktail-style body mists, this is up there, and it’s perfect for a beach vacation.

Golden Pistachio: 3 out of 5

Pistachio, honey, vanilla

I’m typically not a gourmand fan and not a vanilla fan, so a pistachio honey vanilla scent was a real question mark for me. But I knew I needed one in the collection and wanted to test it as a body mist first. The one word for Golden Pistachio is rich, almost decadent, to the point where you want to eat it. The honey lands first, and you need to know pistachio to pick it out, but together it reads like a baklava dessert. I went back and forth between a 3 and a 4 and landed on 3, purely because I don’t personally like to smell delicious. Worth noting: this was the first body mist I ever created and I tested it more than anything else here, wearing it day in and day out for weeks. If you love gourmands, you’ll love this one. The candle is in the works.

The Twos and the One

Emperor: 2 out of 5

Eucalyptus, mint, sea salt

A 2 doesn’t mean I hate it. Emperor started as a candle, which I still love, and it also exists as an EDT. I made it to be light and refreshing, and eucalyptus is always a good route to that. Eucalyptus and mint is a classic pairing, and the cooling effect here is real. The score is low for one specific reason: it smells a little perfumey to me for a body mist. When I reach for a mist I want fun, light, and airy, and this reads heavier. I’d wear it as a perfume rather than a mist. I’m also not a big mint fan, though there’s not a ton of mint here, mostly eucalyptus with some salt. It leans unisex, and most people would probably call it unisex leaning masculine. For high-heat summer, grab the 30ml and keep it on you, because you get to smell good and cool off at the same time. Plenty of customers love this one.

Vanilla Butter Cake: 2 out of 5

Caramel, butter, vanilla

Vanillas are hard for me. It’s not my least favorite note, but it’s nowhere near the top, and it’s part of why gourmands generally don’t work for me, because they turn sugary and too sweet. I had to create a vanilla I would not just tolerate but actually like. I do love butter cake to eat, so that was the angle. Vanilla Butter Cake gives you an almost burnt caramel, then real cake, and not birthday cake but butter cake: rich, gooey, warm, with butter and cream alongside the vanilla. It’s a 2 for me on personal wear, and I’m more likely to wear this than the chocolate. But it’s a far more complex vanilla than most of what’s out there, so if you want a vanilla with actual depth, try it. The candle version I can burn all day.

Dark Chocolate Cocoa: 1 out of 5

Cinnamon, brownie bites, dark chocolate

This is the most honest score on the list, and the one that needs the most context. Dark Chocolate Cocoa sells like crazy in both candle and body mist, and I gave it a 1 anyway. There’s just no way I’m wearing chocolate. I’ve worn it and tested it, because I test everything on myself before I subject anyone else to it, but it’s not my scent. These started as summer candles and customers asked me to turn them into something wearable, and I did it because I love my customers. You get chocolate immediately, specifically brownies baking in the house. The dark chocolate is rich rather than overly sweet, like a microwaved brownie with chocolate sauce on it. If you love wearing chocolatey scents, there’s nothing better than this one.
