How to Use AI for Your Small Business

As small business owners, the list of responsibilities is endless and costly. With the help of AI, you can increase workflow and decrease the stress that comes with the agenda of a business owner. Since incorporating AI tools into daily tasks, the content and organization for Noble Crown have significantly improved in quality. Continue reading for tips on how you can incorporate AI into your small business using AI for small business free.

Have Clear Goals

Set clear goals for what you want your AI tools to achieve. For me, AI has been incredibly helpful in small business email marketing. Some of the ways I use AI at Noble Crown include generating images, polishing blog and social media content, writing emails, and business planning. I have several focus areas where AI dramatically reduces the amount of time I spend. Use AI in the areas that will most help you get "unstuck" or free up your time to do other things for your business with AI small business ideas.

Try Multiple Models

Don't stick to only one model. In 2024, there are many models to try, each offering slightly different services. I suggest trying a few to find the best fit for your content and business objectives. The models that have worked for me include ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, as well as out-of-the-box image AI tools like OpenArt, Davinci, and Canva's in-app AI generator. There are also a variety of free AI tools for small businesses available that you can use. Save on costs by using the free versions before fully investing in the paid versions.

Improve Your Prompt Writing

Get good at writing prompts. Each model behaves differently and gives varying results based on how you write your prompts. As the saying goes, "garbage in, garbage out." I tend to find that detailed prompts and scenario-based prompts (e.g., "Pretend you are the CEO of a small fragrance company...") work much better than simple questions. This requires creativity and patience, but over time you'll get the hang of it.

Treat AI Sessions Like Real Conversations

Treat each AI session like a real-life conversation. If you had a direct report and didn't provide enough details, they would come back and ask questions or guess at what you want, wasting a lot of time. The same thing happens with AI tools. Be conversational, ask multiple questions, and go back and forth before expecting a final result. AI does not always get it right on the first attempt.

Invest in Pro Versions

I hesitated for a long time to pay for one of the big AI tools, but once I did, it was a total day-and-night difference. The models are better, the conversations are smarter, and the results have dramatically increased my capabilities.
